Timber Policy
Responsibility for Timber Condition Post-Delivery
Once timber has been delivered to the customer, Sky Fencing Ltd relinquishes any responsibility for cracks, splits, or other forms of damage. The inherent characteristics of timber make it susceptible to natural changes, including cracking and splitting, especially under varying environmental conditions.
Key Points:
1. Inspection Upon Delivery:
– Customers are encouraged to inspect the timber upon delivery. Any visible defects or damage should be reported immediately to the delivery personnel or our customer service team.
2. Natural Characteristics of Timber:
– Timber is a natural product, and variations in grain, colour, and the presence of knots are not considered defects. Over time, timber may experience natural changes such as shrinkage, expansion, and the development of cracks or splits. These changes are normal and expected as timber adjusts to its environment.
3. Post-Delivery Responsibility:
– After the timber has been delivered and accepted by the customer, Sky Fencing Ltd is not liable for any cracks, splits, or other forms of damage that may occur. Proper handling, storage, and maintenance of the timber post-delivery are the customer’s responsibility.
